I have seen the film twice and plan to see it again soon. On the second viewing it all became crystal clear to me. There is not one misplaced image or word of dialog and I am in awe of this artists ability to realize his vision with such artistry. It is a great story of love and acceptance of loss. The three time periods are really one in my mind. The telling of Izzi's story and Tom's present and possible future which he rejects in the end by choosing a different path. There are not many movies like this and it will eventually take its place amoung the other great works of our time. Share this movie with someone special.

[...] Bringing up the rear of the top ten is the Darren Aronofsky head scratcher The Fountain (review). This is an undeniable gorgeous looking film that embraces a visual style and a fractured narrative to tell its story. I know I will need at least one or two more viewings to get the whole thing, if not more. It is a daring film that may not be entirely successful, but it is an effort by a visionary filmmaker to do something more with the medium. Aronofsky is one of the proofs to the future of film being bright, a champion of an art film that seeks to reach a broad audience. Give it a shot. [...]
