Ok, Kevin, I totally agree with your opinion that The Proposal was just a “Good” comedy. Besides The bar scene, I wondered why the big deal about a Canadian being in NY–especially in light of NAFTA and all the nurses and others who live in the U.S. However, I think it only fair to mention that there were a few hilarious scenes. I actually laughed until I cried, when Margaret Tate (not Page) got carried away in the Spirtual Forest. My theater was only about 1/3 full, but the audience was in agreement about the funny parts. We already “got” that she was digging the Alaskan branch of the family before they hit us over the head with it. Betty White's performance was a gem.

I'm actually not annoyed with Jack Black. I still find him pretty funny. He was under utilized in Tropic Thunder even though I'm glad Robert Downey, Jr. stole the show. Michael Cera is gonna get played out really fast. That dead pan, blank stare is getting really old.

Ditto to Neil. But like Olivia Wilde, they don't make the movie worth watching. If only the movie was about Abraham the Circumcisor and Olivia Wilde naked, it would have been so much better.

David Cross was very funny, as always. Also, Oliver Platt and Hank Azaria really make their supporting roles work. As does Bill Hader, in a much smaller role.
