Your review is pretty spot-on. The original Halloween is my favorite horror movie, but this was an awesome re-make, re-imagining, whatever. Rob Zombie did a great job with this---can't wait for the DVD to come out

Most people who feel strongly (to say the least) about this remake, are fierce fans of the original, and feel somewhat insulted. I can understand that. They're two very different films.

But I say this: Compare this Halloween to Halloween's 3 through 8 and you'll find that this is, at the very least, better than those. Some will probably enjoy it more than 2. It's a tough film, in that if you've never seen Halloween, it's new and who knows how you feel. If you have seen Halloween, like we have, I like to consider it exactly what it is - a different way of telling the same story. And for me it worked. I understand it didn't work for everyone.

NO NO NO!!!!!

I find it more than hard to believe that you would give this piece of trash a B- ... seriously ... The first 15 minutes of this film might be the worst written and performed sequence in the last five years of cinema. The last half is a travesty to anyone familiar with the brilliant original.

The film fails on its own merits, but it aborts when compared to the original.

A B- ????? No fucking way ... not EVER.
