You had me at "I’m going to set aside my typically meandering sentence structuring."

And I agree completely with your review. So that's something. The flick does a brilliant job of building and maintaining an aura of creepiness and dread. The scene starting with Katie's leg pulling out from the sheets? Freaking brilliantly terrifying. And yes, those final two seconds are just plain terrible.

Go see it people.

I decided to see this movie with a friend on whim, we were about to go to couples retreat when we went to go see this instead. We had only read the basic synopsis inside the theatre, no trailers, and no idea how long the movie was, which in my mind was the most horrifying part of my experience with this movie. Each night they showed kept topping the previous one in creepiness and I never saw the end coming. Hearing those calm footsteps after the bloodcurdling scream from the kitchen, haunts me.

And I don't know what theatre you were in, during the night when Micah lines the floor with powder, people in my theatre started screaming out loud. During the second last night in the movie, the entire theatre gasped out loud, and more people screamed. A lot of people, including my friend and I, left the theatre saying it was one of the scariest movies we'd ever seen.

I saw this movie last night and I found it really boring. I kept waiting for something (anything ) to happen. I'm not a scary movie fan and do not go for blood/ gore or violence. I do require a little bit more then watching someone sleep. This might be scary if it was real happenings, not a written story, but my imagination was not good enough for me to buy into this film.

I saw this film this weekend in Cleveland on the day after opening night at the one theater that it was showing in. We checked on Friday to see when it was showing on Saturday, and there were only 3 showings listed. By the time we checked again on Saturday, there were at least 8 showings listed. When we got to the theater, we were able to get into a 7:10 show that was already in the previews, and we were lucky to do so, because by the time we got out, the 3 following shows were already sold out, including one that showed at 11:50 PM. I must say, the creepiness of this film (and I love horror movies) was the real selling point...it's like you keep thinking, "But nothing BIG really happened" (until the last five minutes), but you're still terrified of what WILL inevitably happen. The fact that it feels as though it's NOT a movie and that the couple are just your average couple makes it even more creepy, because you think, "That could easily be me". I rarely see movies on opening weekend, and I'm definitely almost NEVER still thinking about the movie an hour later, but I must admit that when I tried to lay down that night, it was a difficult thing to get to sleep. I think everyone who likes scary and creepy should see this movie; it really was an experience.

I was joking. :) I am going to see it, but I will probably have to wait until it is released on DVD.

I retyped and re-worded that three times to be sure I wasn't giving a spoiler! And honestly there are three scenes that "leg pulling out from the sheets" could easily refer to. You'll see what I mean when you see it, and I sincerely hope you do see it. Good stuff.
