New ‘G.I. Joe’ Posters Continue To Push Mediocrity

The more I see and hear about the upcoming live-action G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra movie the more I think it’s actually an unofficial sequel to the 1982 classic Megaforce. An elite squad of fighting men utilizing the latest in high-tech weapons and vehicles to protect the world against evil organizations bent on world domination? Check. Unimpressive, unrealistic, and often entertaining costumes? Check. A director of questionable skill known solely for light, brainless fare? Check.
The idea for a live-action G.I. Joe movie has potential. Some of the characters have real personality, and the possibility for a solid, interesting, and fun action movie definitely existed… before Paramount and director Stephen Sommers got their hands on it anyway. Now the characters all blend together, and at least visually they’re severely lacking in personality. A teaser is set to air during the upcoming Super Bowl which should either offer some hope for the film or put the final nail in Duke’s coffin.
New posters have been released, but they’re basically just variations on ones we’ve already seen. All dressed in X-Men black, all holding weapons, women pushing their asses out in true soldier-like fashion…
But I digress. Check out the new posters below.

What do you think of the new posters? Don’t you wish they’d hurry up and release a poster of Cobra Commander already?
