Anyone that claims to "hate" him or his work is just jealous. He has created something in nearly every genre imaginable--writing, producing, directing, shooting, editing--come on, how can you not respect that? Sex, Lies, and Videotape, Out of Sight, Ocean's 11, Full Frontal, Solaris, and Traffic are all incredibly well-crafted films. The same goes for Rodriguez. You just can't deny that these guys are DOING it. Regardless of your opinions of the end-product, the fact that there are people this involved in the process and are finding a way to make it work with all odds against them...it's incredible. We should be so lucky to live in an age where filmmaking like this is possible, and we should thank people like Soderbergh and Rodriguez for having the guts to do it the way they do.
