no offense.. but the majority of the films on your list are fairly tame. how about something like "cannibal holocaust" or "mondo cane". what about the entire Giallo genre.. shoot, anything by Dario Argento. These movies make "Training Day" seem like G-rated hollywood fluff

perhaps you were trying to stay away from these sort of exploitation films... but then it seems that you could have at least put something like "man bites dog", or "irreversible" on the list

i guarantee most violent japanese movies are more violent than all of those examples being naked blood, machine girl, guineau pig series, and many others. I know there must be some american movies more violent than scarface, kill bill for example.

If you want the most realistic looking violence watch Elephant and Zero Day.<br>I was almost unable to watch the end of Zero Day. It was so realistic it sickened me.

I hate to say this, but the fact that you rate Reservoir Dogs even on this list makes me think you know nothing about film, or that you didn't even watch the movie. There was little, to no actual violence that happened on screen in that flick. It is more about the threat of violence than anything. Even during the most gruesome part of the movie, when Mr Blonde is cutting the cops ear off, the camera pans and tilts away from the violence.

How could you forget the italian horror movie? Have you ever seen any Argento's movies? I don't think so. I'm not saying that the list isn't good, no, it has great films (i would just take "Silence fo the Lambs", because i think this movie is a great fuckin' s$%#, but it's a question of taste). And Miike's movies? The aforementioned Ichi The Killer, Audition, Visitor Q, Dead or Alive, Fudoh, Izo, among others. And the New Wave of French Horror? Aja's "Haute Tension" and Bustillo/Maury's "À L'intérieur" are both great examples. Buttgereit's "Nekromantik", "Der Todesking"? The supreme masterpiece Hooper's "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre"? Definitely, you should watch some of theses movies and redo this list.

No offence but is a relatively lame list of horror movies. Very mainstream and simple and dont deserve that title. If you've come across Lucio Fulci movies, now those are violent, Zombi 2, The Beyond, City of the Dead anyone seen those knows what im talking about.
Once again why isnt Cannibal Holocaust on the list ? Guinea Pig series ? Ichi the Killer ?
Obvoiusly the writer must get scared or disturbed easily to call those Violent movies.
Men behind the Sun and Salo are also a must on this list. VERY VERY disturbing and hard to watch movies indeed and for those of you who want to assissinate your minds put Begotten on your list and this one.
