You know, postal wasn't half bad. When I watch movies, I try to forget what past work the director has done and see the movie as it's own. I've seen Uwe Boll's films, and I know that a lot of them are absolute shit, and being a gamer, I'm a little ticked off that he's ruined some good stories, stories that could potentially make -good- movies. I'm really not looking forward to the far cry movie, which from what I've seen so far, is bastardized.

However. Postal. Wasn't. Half. Bad. It really wasn't, I think you guys are carrying the stigma from his other films, and -looking- for things to judge about the film. There were some dumb jokes, like the monkey raping thing, but hell it's 200 times better than meet the spartans.

The lead actor, by himself, is hilarious... and that alone is enough to give the movie some consideration.

You need to treat Postal like it is, a lighthearted comedy. I actually started watching this movie because to be honest, I wanted something to bitch about, but I came out of it amused. This is coming from a guy who's favorite movies are memento, the machinist, the bourne identity, and no country for old men.

So I say to you this. Would you like a cup of coffee and another stick up your ass, Mr Sophisticated?

Another reason why Postal is better than any of those bad "Movies" movies.

Is Postal really a spoof? It's a movie of a over the top game. The purpose of the story of the game was trying to come up with something at least half decent and funny to push a character into doing what a video gamer wanted to do. Go around, kill people do stupid things and fuck around. The only real spoofs in the Postal story, is spoofing on the war on terror. That's really it. As far as I'm concerned, that is something worth spoofing.

My biggest problem with those terrible "Movies". Is that they spoof things that are good. Why in gods name would it be funny to spoof The Dark Knight? Or Iron Man? Or Hancock? Why spoof something that isn't bad in it's own right? Why was Scary Movie 1 actually good? Because Horror Movies are BAD! They try so hard to be serious and fail miserably. Most anyways. Thus when they first spoofed it, it was actually at least something to laugh at. They were showing us on film exactly how bad we thought some of the pathetic excuses for movies some of those horror flicks actually where. But I mean, TDK, Iron Man, Hulk, 300, and even more actual credible movie characters thrown into a plot filled with pop culture refrences? WTF is that?

Guh. Postal wasn't the greatest movie, and it was pretty bad. I won't lie. But, the comedy genre alone, really hasn't made a GOOD movie in a long long time. 40 Year Old Virgin was okay, but I mean after I've seen it once, the jokes get old. Same with Postal. After you watch it and get used to the over the top nature and have some laughs drinking some beers, you'll move on. But at least it can do that, and at least it doesn't waste your time in theatres.

All rape debate aside, I have to agree that it is almost insulting that Friedberg and Seltzer are making money off their half-assed sense of humor. What compounds the pain is the fact that there will ALWAYS be something for them to fail at spoofing. Remember when films like Airplane! were actually, gasp, good at satire?

I honestly think the staff at FSR could make a better film, even if the rules of the script were that we had to only stick to current pop culture for a plot. Somebody should contact these two and issue a challenge to them that if we can write a better script then they have to fund a production of the first FSR film. Hell, I'll spot them Paris Hilton, Carmen Electra, any stunted attempt at a joke Britney Spears can bring, and raise them whatever moronic ebony and ivory joke they have for the Obama vs. McCain presidency. Let me guess, they have a kid and it's Michael Jackson? Oh wait, Michael has been in Scary Movie...45? Too late.

Oh, I disagree Robert. You would have to watch oral rape, that seems more terrifying than the alternative. Though anal rape is surely horrifying on its own right. Also, let's define "better" when it comes to rape. Less painful? More dignity? I dunno, there's just so many factors to incorporate.
