A Great movie! You can't possibly describe how fast (and extremely funny!) the dialogue is unless you hear it for yourself! I have seen it a few times now and I always find some line or joke I missed before…a real keeper since it can be seen over & over again while still revealing new bits to the comedy! As mentioned by Cineleet, the on-screen chemistry between Grant & Russell is electric! I couldn't agree more!

Fantastic post, and I couldn’t agree more. I’ve only ever seen very bad DVD’s of this, so I’d
love to see it restored or remastered in some way. A truely exceptional film that’s too often
forgotten.

Great post! The Front Page has been remade many times (as traditionally written with two male leads), and they even took a stab at a direct remake of His Girl Friday in 1988 with Switching Channels (with Kathleen Turner and Burt Reynolds), but none have ever matched the electric chemistry Hawkes was able to foster between Grant and Russell.
