Watchmen Motion Comic on iTunes
Posted by Brian C. Gibson (brian@filmschoolrejects.com) on August 7, 2008
I saw something in the iTunes store that said Watchmen, and my first thought was “Holy hell, what is it?”. Turns out that DC has commissioned a full motion comic of “Watchmen.” Directed by Jake S. Hughes, there is currently only one chapter in the iTunes store. At the asking price of $1.99 a chapter, you might be better off just subscribing to the season pass. The season pass is $19.99, and one would assume that there would be 12 chapters as there were 12 volumes of the graphic novel. My only gripe, which I’m sure that alot of people agree, is that there is only one narrator/voice actor. The problem with that is that when Rorschach and Silk Spectre talk, it is in the same man’s voice. It is a bit distracting, but this is awesome overall. If you have never read “Watchmen,” I recommend reading it. This is a supplement to the book, so it is really made for fans or people who want to watch it on their iPods.
