Let me say this first: I do not play “World of Warcraft”, the extremely popular — and in many ways cultish — massively multi-player online role playing game. But while you won’t see me leading my character through the Hellfire Peninsula or Thunder Bluff, you may just run across a celebrity or two. According to friends of mine who play WoW religiously, everyone from pitcher Curt Shilling to the Pope himself have a character. Actually, I’m not sure about the Pope, but I know that Shilling is in.

Needless to say, “World of Warcraft” has gone from being a popular game to a staple of pop culture. From “Southpark” to Toyota Tacoma commercials, WoW is everywhere. And now, the folks at Blizzard (the firm that is profiting big time from the game’s explosive success) have given us some cult-icon infused commercials to promote the game. The three part series of ads will include Mr. T, William Shatner and Verne Troyer, all talking about their WoW characters. You can see the Mr. T and Shatner versions below. The campaign is called “What’s your game?” and it is absolutely hilarious — even if you don’t play WoW.
