Officially Cool: The Shame of Batman

Posted by Brian C. Gibson (brian@filmschoolrejects.com) on April 15, 2008

Everyone remembers how vintage the original Batman show and movie are…but what everyone forgets is how really, really bad it was. Adam West was a horrible actor, and his Batman was even worse. Don’t get me wrong, I love the original Batman. But keep in mind, this was back when a movie didn’t need to make sense to make money. Enjoy one of the most ridiculous scenes from the original Batman movie below.

Brian Rodden says:

At least Adam West has a steady gig with Family Guy

Robert Fure says:

Even before clicking on this I knew it had to be the shark repellent spray scene. I would love to own that model shark though. It is apparently of the same species from Deep Blue Sea that regulates its own bite pressure as not to damage either LL Cool J or Batman.

Christian Toto says:

I had the same reaction as Robert … I think a show like the original “Batman” defies criticism at this point. It exists solely for nostalgic purposes. But I do wonder what the banter was on the set between takes … like actors huddling on the “Barney” soundstage to commiserate on their job prospects.

zer0nix says:

not to ruin all of your fun but ‘batman’ was a parody show, specifically parodizing hillariously ridiculous comics of days past. but however you spell it, the shark repellent scene is damn hillarious and can be enjoyed by all.
