Officially Cool: Fight Club as a Romantic Comedy
Officially Cool By Brian C. Gibson on September 8, 2008 | (8) CommentsSo if you have ever read a Chuck Palahniuk novel, or seen one of David Fincher’s films, the term ‘romantic comedy’ would only possibly come up as a reference to something distant and not at all in relation. Fight Club is a one piece collision of one of my favorite authors and one of my favorite directors. Some words that would come to mind with this film would possibly be sarcasm, dark, cynicism, anti-establishment, mayhem. Two words that would not come to mind are romantic or lighthearted. However, I found this nifty little video that makes Fight Club look like it could actually look like a lighthearted romantic comedy. On a side note, I never really thought about the fact that Brad Pitt, Edward Norton and Helena Bonham-Carter are all Academy Award nominees. Watch and comment, like Jack’s dirty mouth.
