Officially Cool

While scouring the Comic-Con show floor, I found some things that fit pretty easily into the Officially Cool Category. One of which was this 30th Anniversary DVD set for Halloween. Obviously, it includes a Michael Myers mask…but what else?

- Halloween Restored (Original 1978 film)
- Halloween Extended Edition (out of print for several years)
- Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers
- Halloween 5: The Revenge of Michael Myers
- Halloween: 25 Years of Terror Documentary
- Halloween Blu-ray

So if our math is right, that makes this a 6-disc, individually numbered limited edition set. There will only be 20,000 copies, and the set will SRP for $89.97. When does this come out you ask? The set is scheduled to hit stores on October 14, just in time for you to scare the crap out of yourself for Halloween.

I must put 90$ away to purchase this gem at its release. The first Halloween alone is worth the price of admission.

Biggest reason I’d buy it is for the mask.

Why isn’t 2 or 3 on there. Someone please explain.

Robert Fure says:

Yeah, no Part 2 or Season of the Witch? GTFO of here with that weak stuff.

The reason 2, 3, 6, H2blow (er… “O”) Resurrectum (or “Resurrection” if you prefer) and that Rob Zombie monstrosity aren’t included are due to the fact Universal Pictures owns the rights in the US to 2 and 3, and Dimension Films owns parts 6, 7, 8 and the remake.

As for this box set, I’m skipping. I already own those, and really aren’t in the mood to drop that kinda change to help Anchor Bay clean out their closets, and just adding a silly looking mask (which looks nothing like Shatner).

Adam Sweeney says:

I love Halloween, dressed up as Mike Myers in high school and freaked people out that were driving by. The mask alone costs 40 dollars usually so it may be a decent boxed set.

I do wish Halloween 2 was in the set. 3, H20, and Resurrection AKA Busta Rhymes kicks Mike Myers’ ass…well, I can do without those.

Mathieu Lalonde says:

Just five us a decent Blu-ray with the right colors and we’ll be happy… !

Is this the 30th anniversary edition or the actual 30th different release of Halloween on DVD.

Seriously, I already have bought the original on DVD 3 times. I won’t be buying this, I already have the 25 years of terror, part 4 and part 5 so I can’t justify spending 90 bucks on a mask.
