Robert Downey Jr Voices the new iPhone 3G commercial

I know that this is about as off topic as we’ve been around here, but seeing as I dedicated a significant chunk of my afternoon to following Steve Jobs’ Keynote at the Apple Worldwide Developer’s Conference today, I feel that it is somewhat relevant. In his keynote, jobs announced the brand new iPhone 3G — which I will be obtaining when it hits stores on July 11 (same day as Hellboy II: The Golden Army) — which is just another great innovation in Apple’s history. It is pretty sweet, with 3G capabilities, a sleeker frame and GPS features. So if you are lost in Austin and you can’t find your way to say, The Alamo Drafthouse, you can easily find your way. This will certainly come in handy next year at SXSW. Maybe we won’t be lost all the time.

Anyway, toward the end of the speech Mr. Jobs unleashed a new, spy-rific ad for the phone, which features the voice of Iron Man himself, Robert Downey Jr. You see how I made the tie-in? You like that, don’t you? Either way, check out the ad below:

And a completely unrelated note, whose idea was this?:
