‘Zombieland’ Trailer Looks Ridiculous, Awesome
Movie News By Cole Abaius on June 18, 2009 | (6) Comments
I could have gone ahead and claimed that this trailer looked ridiculously awesome, but that seemed like hyperbole. After digging the pics they released last week and claiming on Reject Radio that I would pretty much love anything that involved the undead walking around attempting to eat brains, this trailer is just the right dose of absurdity and zombie-killing.
I don’t think there are going to be any stark lessons about humanity hidden within Zombieland. I think it’s mostly just going to be Woody Harrelson’s character taking out the brain-hungry maniacs in evermore creative ways.
However I did learn the importance of hand sanitizing after dealing with dead bodies:
All I’m seeing are strange zombie attacks, a lot of gap-toothed crazy from Woody, and Emma Stone looking really hot in black eye shadow. I dislike none of these things. Some sort of plot might be nice, but I don’t really have my fingers crossed or anything. That piano death diversion was a little strange (and looked pretty crappy), but otherwise everything looks pretty killer. Either this film is going to be the height of cliche or it’ll be just absurd enough to be funny. I’m looking forward to finding out in October.
Zombieland hits theaters on October 9, 2009.
