Zoe Saldana to Carry Out Sexy Assassinations in ‘Colombiana’
Movie News By Neil Miller on May 17, 2010 | (2) Comments
Consider this the news of the day. It is an equation that would put together producer Luc Besson, insane director Olivier Megaton (Transporter 3) and the world’s foremost badass lady, Zoe Saldana, together in a project full of bullets. After kicking ass in Avatar and shooting up the place in The Losers, it appears as if Saldana is ready to make even more kills in Colombiana.
Set in Latin America and the U.S., Colombiana is the story of a young woman who, after witnessing her parents’ murder as a child in Bogota, grows up to become a wicked assassin. Her day job is hitman, but she moonlights as a vigilante, hellbent on finding the mobster responsible for the death of her parents. The character is essentially the same character that Olga Kurylenko played in Quantum of Solace.
It’s a script that notable script hound and Latino Review contributor El Mayimbe called a ‘hot delicious read’ on Twitter over the weekend. He was also nice enough to point out that Heat Vision had misspelled the title of the film, which is Colombiana, not Columbiana, as my gringo spell-check would suggest. Either way, the movie does indeed sound both ‘hot’ and ‘delicious,’ just like its new leading lady.
