Zack Snyder Wants You To Help Make Watchmen

Why is it that Zack Snyder keeps looking more haggard as the days keep mounting up on the Watchmen production? I sure hope this movie isn’t grinding him down into the ground. To that end, he’s reaching out to you for help under the umbrella of Adrian Veidt’s Veidt Industries.
To help populate the television sets peppering the background of many of the shots, Snyder and Warner Bros. are asking fans to create their own versions of commercials for Veidt products. You’ll also be competing for prizes like a thousand bucks, a sweet Canon Vixia HG10 high-definition camera, and the chance that your commercial will appear in the finished movie.
They have all the assets for you to download over on the YouTube contest page, in both standard and high-def, and all you have to do is be creative and go to work. The deadline is June 2nd, and Zack will be choosing 20 finalists to have their commercials actually appear in the movie. Plus, we can only imagine that they’ll be included as extras on the DVD.
Watchmen has been one of my favorite graphic novels for years, and while I’m extremely excited about this movie… I hope it doesn’t end up having some lame, crummy commercials in the background. Snyder has a pretty good eye for detail, so I can’t think he’d pick something lame. However, he looks so overworked that let’s hope he doesn’t hand this task off to some lackey to take care of.
