Yvonne Strahovski

I’ve mentioned this a few times, but it’s worth saying again: I’ve got a great feeling about The Killer Elite. The Garry McKendry directed thriller is the story of former British special forces members, led by Clive Owen, who are being hunted down by assassins. To their rescue comes a former Navy Seal played by Jason Statham. This week, the production added the likes of Robert De Niro, Dominic Purcell and Adrian Young. It also added Chuck star Yvonne Strahovski. That works.

Moviehole had the confirmation of De Niro joining the Melbourne-based production, along with local actors Ben Mendelsohn (who is fantastic in David Michod’s Animal Kingdom) and Lachy Hulme, who you might recognize from the recent adaptation of Macbeth.

The Strahovski report comes from What’s Playing, who also note that she will play the love interest of Jason Statham’s character. Take note: any time we get a little more of Yvonne Strahovski, we’re in good shape. She only adds more amplification to my interest in this project.

Side note: I’m still predicting that this film will be more badass than The Expendables. That’s right, dear reader, I’m calling my shot on this one.
