As if it weren’t already one of the most highly anticipated movies of the year, Fox is planning an all-out blitz ad campaign that sees the first volleys this weekend. On it’s very own station, FOX, If you’re watching “Family Guy” on Sunday, “House” on Monday, and “American Idol” on Tuesday, you’ll see three different 60-second ad spots for the upcoming film.

This is pretty genius. As you’ll note, the three shows that they are advertising with have radically different audience bases. I assume this means we’ll get three trailer/promotional spots that are tailor-made for each audience – something for the males aged 18-35, something for the broad swath that watches Hugh Laurie solve the same medical case every week, and something for the giant population who watches “American Idol.”

Curiously, despite billions of people who watch that show, I’ve never met anyone who admits to it.

Digressions aside, here’s teaser video to whet your appetite for destruction:

  • After X3, I should be more skeptical, but everything I have seen and heard from this film makes me more excited each day.
  • What the fuck is cyclops doing in the Wolverine movie?
  • Same thing I asked when little Ororo (storm) on the official movie trailer. So I guess this is really how most characters are reintroduce so I wouldn't be suprised if they are adding Scott Summers (Cyclops) in the movie.
  • At the beginning of X-Men we got a scene showing a young Magneto in a concentration camp, and there were plans to add origin scenes featuring a young Storm causing havoc with the weather in an African village, and Cyclops at a school dance who discovers he can fire beams out of his eyes for the first time. However, due to budget restraints these were never filmed, and it appears the producers and Gavin Hood have decided to put them in this film, which is a cool idea. The scenes may differ from those planned for X-Men, however from the short clip above it looks like Cyclops is firing his beams in a school, and we saw a glimpse of a young Storm in a jungle environment in the trailer, so they probably won’t differ too much.
  • criss
i cant wait to see Hugh!!!
  • Whoa, Neil Miller! Don't diss House like that. Same case every week? Sure most of them have something to do with syphilis, but that's because 9 out of 10 HAVE syphilis....right? RIGHT?!
  • Matt
Weres Gambits infamous two finger gloves and head gear. Not to mention black and red eyes. Its a lesser Gambit than hoped for but its big Gambits in a movie.
  • gambit, its about time you were in a movie..
  • God bless Remy Lebeau. I can't wait for to see him blow some shit up.
  • Ok why does the young Wolverine in the picture above have blades coming out of his hands??
Unless my eyesight is bad and those are the claws he had before the Adamantite was injected into him.
