Wolverine Update: Silver Fox, Stryker Revealed
Movie News By Neil Miller on February 16, 2008 | (2) Comments
Last night we reported exclusively that The Blob will make an appearance in the upcoming X-Men Origins: Wolverine and it appears that our news wasn’t the only new Wolverine news to hit the web.
First, JoBlo reported that 30 Days of Night star Danny Huston will play William Stryker (portrayed in the previous X-Men films by Brian Cox), the mastermind behind the Weapon X program. It was originally reported that Liev Schrieber would play Stryker, but it has recently been revealed that he will instead play Sabretooth.
Furthermore, we got word last night from our friends at IESB that the part of Silver Fox will go to Lynn Collins, who you may have recently seen in The Number 23 (if you were one of the 12 people that saw it, of course). Both Michelle Monaghan and Maggie Q were reportedly in the running for Silver Fox, who was Wolverine’s lover in the comic lore, but it appears that it will be Collins who will join the production, which is currently underway in New Zealand. Collins can also be seen in Alan Ball’s Towelhead, which premiered at this year’s Sundance Film Festival.
X-Men Origins: Wolverine is currently in production and is scheduled to hit theaters on May 1, 2009. We’ll keep an eye on it for you, as we’re certain more casting announcements are imminent.
