Wolfgang Peterson has signed on to direct something that sounds almost exactly like Battlefield Earth. I am afraid.

The movie is entitled Uprising, is written by Blood Diamond scribe Charles Leavitt, and will be made under the Columbia Pictures banner. For now, the only plot details we have tell us that the story will follow the resistance movement of the people of Earth, after our world has been invaded by a group of powerful aliens.

My first thought was -Awesome! My second was Battlefield Earth. While throwing up in the bathroom at the thought of that movie, I did my best to wipe it from my memory. With the strong combination of Petersen and Leavitt, this movie should be interesting, at least, and hopefully be a rocking human-alien war epic.
