Who could have predicted leaked photos of a nude and naturally coiffed Vanessa Hudgens would lead to a possible role in one of the biggest films of the year?

When the photos of Hudgens (self-taken for boyfriend Zak Ephron) first appeared online many people thought her career was over, not only with Disney, but with Hollywood in general.vhudgensmod2 (Some people also thought she needed to wax.)  Disney execs thought long and hard over the pics, but decided to hold onto her.  Their gamble paid off and High School Musical 3 banked almost $250 million worldwide.  It seems producers from another popular franchise have seen the photos too, and the first thing they thought of was…

Werewolf!

According to MTV.com Hudgens has auditioned for the role of Leah Clearwater in the upcoming Twilight sequel, New Moon.  Clearwater is Jacob Black’s “feisty and heartbroken frienemy” who is a werewolf like Jacob.  She gives him grief for being attracted to the waify human, Bella.  Ashley Greene, who plays vampire Alice Cullen in the Twilight films, told MTV that ”I think she’d be great,” which is really saying something because vampires normally don’t like werewolves.  She also said New Moon is in the process of getting “another rewrite” which could mean anything or nothing.

In related news, Twilight hits DVD on March 21st!  Yay!  In other news, more or less related, Robert Pattinson was spotted in L.A. recently reportedly hitting on women via anatomical references.  “If I could, I’d have a [?] on the inside of my elbow so I could lick it all day long,” he reportedly said.  Defamer isn’t sharing what the mystery word is (although some of their commenters have some truly entertaining suggestions), so it’s anyone’s guess.

Would you be excited to see Hudgens in all her hairy glory in New Moon?
