Will Sandra Bullock Be Stallone’s Latest Expendable?

Many of you may look upon Sylvester Stallone’s upcoming action epic The Expendables as a lesser version of Quentin Tarantino’s Ingloryhole Bastards. If so, you are wrong. For my money, The Expendables looks to be the more interesting of the two. After seeing the kick to the nuts that Stallone gave to the Rambo franchise, this new ensemble action extravaganza is almost guaranteed to rock.
You may also have thought that Inglorious Bastages had the market cornered on oddball casting announcements, but again, you’d be wrong. In addition to himself, Stallone has already lined up Jet Li, Jason Statham, Dolph Lundgren, Forest Whitaker, and (the only shitty choice) Randy Couture. And it’s only getting better…
Is Sandra Bullock next to join? JoBlo is reporting that Stallone is after his Demolition Man co-star for a role that would pair her with Whitaker as government agents tracking Stallone’s crew of mercenaries. This would be reunion number two for Bullock as Whitaker directed her in Hope Floats. Your gut reaction to Bullock may be (undeservedly) negative, but look at her in the context of what this movie could be and you have to acknowledge the sheer entertainment value and the possibilities.
A rag-tag group of mercenaries coming together to take down a merciless dictator? It’s early (obviously) so there’s still plenty of time for this movie to turn to shit, but as of right this second… it’s sounding pretty fucking sweet.
Are you excited about The Expendables? If not, stop being a dillhole and get excited!
