Will Ferrell’s Funny or Die Comedy Tour Gets Set to Roll Out!

Ever since The Blue Collar Comedy Tour took off to astronomical fame, it seems that every actor/comedian/celebrity wants to have their own comedy bus tour across the heartland. Dane Cook tried it with Tourgasm, which failed miserably. Vince Vaughn recently did it in order to shoot his film Vince Vaughn’s Wild West Comedy Show, which has garnered mixed results thus far. But until now, there has not been a behemoth of bravado quite like the tour that Will Ferrell will be leading into 8 college towns in the month of February.
That’s right, it is the Funny or Die Comedy Tour: Presented by Semi-Pro. To help promote his upcoming movie Semi-Pro, Will Ferrell is bringing four of his immensely talented comedian friends on the road, traveling from port to port in the midwest and along the eastern seaboard to bring laughter to the masses. Taking part in the shenanigans will be comedian Zach Galifianakis, The Daily Show’s Demetri Martin and actor/comedian Nick Swardson. As well, actress Andrea Savage will be along to provide commentary on the tour. This is quite literally the comedy event of the century — at least here in Columbus, Ohio. We are just one of the lucky few towns that will host one of these shows. Check out the full schedule below:
Feb 4 — Bramlage Coliseum / Kansas State / Manhattan, KS
Feb 5 — Breslin Events Center / Michigan State / E. Lansing, MI
Feb 6 — Schottenstein Center / Ohio State / Columbus, OH
Feb 11 — Bryce Jordan Center / Penn State / State College, PA
Feb 12 — Ryan Center / Univ. Rhode Island / Kingston, RI
Feb 13 — Conte Forum / Boston College / Boston, MA
Feb 22 — Dean Smith Ctr / UNC Chapel Hill / Chapel Hill, NC
Feb 22 — Radio City Music Hall / New York City, NY
As you can see, the tour hits a few schools in the midwest, runs along the east coast and ends up in the heart of NYC for its final show. It is brilliant promotion for the film and a great way to put some great comics on stage in front of some of the most ardent Will Ferrell fans in the nation — those fans at THE Ohio State University, that is.
Many of the shows are sold out, so you may want to jump over to the Official Website to see about tickets for shows in your area. For those of you in Columbus, sorry but the tickets are all gone, as the Ohio Union Activities Board gave out 12,000 free tickets on January 14 to Ohio State students. Think that drew the kids away from their games of beer pong? Check out the video below. For more on Semi-Pro, you can watch the Red Band Trailer here or check out the official website here.
