I've actually been hoping to see this movie for the last 2 years, back when it was called 5-25-77. It always looked better to me than FANBOYS and I cant wait to check it out!
I'm just glad that they're finally releasing it. I've been watching that exact same trailer since '07!

It's like "Adventureland" met "Fanboys" and had a bastard child. I'm not saying thats a bad thing…it's merely the vibe I got from the trailer. I'd definitely see it, though.

Did you who made this film, "From the Producers of Star Wars", nuff said. It wouldn't suprise me if Lucas wasn't behind a lot of these movies simply to get the original franchise viable.

Sheesh, this hasn't come out yet? This was made near my town back in 04 I believe. I kept hearing about it while I was working on an indie horror film called "Stump the Band" that was also done around my house, which was directed by Bill Holmes, one of the co-producers on this film (also the basis of one of the characters if I'm not mistaken). I even saw this exact trailer (but it was called 5-22-77. Again, I think that was the title. It was along those lines) presented by Johnson in 05 when we had a preview of the rough cut for Stump.

Wish this damn thing would come out already. I've been dying to check it out!

Seen a bit more of it than the trailer and I gotta say, it is a really fun movie that is also touching. Star Wars is a big part of it but NOT the only element of the backdrop, anyone who remembers trying to figure out their place in the world and then realizing that you have to make one vs. find one should like this movie – just sayin'…

It could be lovely – though my common complaint with movies about young people making movies – is that the production values always look too good. I grew up making movies, and I've seen the movies of friends who did the same. In these real scenarios the imagination was generally stronger than our ability to create amazing sets or props – and it was also somehow more important, too :)

You know, as a 'Star Wars' fan myself…I have to say…yes, yes I am.

I think that's why 'Fanboys' fell so incredibly flat for me…I'm just over the whole thing. It began with Smith's really funny 'Death Star construction workers' speech in 'Clerks' and was probably over at the very latest with the 'Family Guy' episode.

I think there were less movies made about Vietnam than there are with Star Wars 'as the backdrop'.
