We’re Officially Drowning in ‘Watchmen’ Posters

Watchmen Banner!!!

I…just…don’t know anymore. I have been the biggest cheerleader for this film, the biggest geek about it (at least among my fellow rejects), but even I am having trouble keeping my head and my enthusiasm above water when we’re inundated by so many posters.

MTV’s Splash Page
got their paws on this new IMAX Poster for the flick, and you’ll need to head over there for a higher res look.

Still, this bad boy is what you’d want to see heading out of your local IMAX:

IMAX Watchmen Poster

I think this looks fairly incredible, but I’m not sure that it will drive non-fans, that crucial audience, to the film. There’s not a lot of face-recognition on the poster, and for someone unfamiliar with the comic, it looks like a bunch of weird-o’s in Halloween costumers. Which, it sort of is actually. But is that enough of a sell?

  • this movie is going to suck so bad.
  • Even if the movie sucks, it's already succeeded in the fact that it got a LOT more people to read the Watchmen book.

Here are 2 reason why i think you are an idiot of gigantic proportions.
1)Your name and accompanying picture is incredibly derogatory...im not sure what point you're trying to make but a picture of a black slave is no way to express what limited intelligence you may have to the world.
    2) "This movie is going to suck so bad"...spoken like a true intellect. I see your ability to forsee the future is being put to use very well. Rather than put your superpower of seeing the future into good use by warning us of future catastrophes, you instead see it fit to pronounce judgement on a film which has taken years in the making, with the talent and creativity of several people attached.

    I salute your stupidity Sir.
  • when i look at you, son. i think to myself "wow his name is nevernude.. how original, he likes arrested development." i myself am black and don't take offense to my name nor my picture. But i do take offense to the fact that you are trying to bring me down.

about watchmen.. i'm sorry but i am sick and tired of all the hype on this site the movie looks like it is in the same caliber as hell boy or underworld. makes me sick

Um...I've read the first five issues of Watchmen...and all the action in the trailer has already happened.
Please, somebody tell me there's more than just murder-mystery-solving in the rest of issues.
  • They kept using same shot here and there. Need better ones. I'm still watching it. Oh and that blckmanjew. F@*k you thinking this movie will suck. YOU suck!!
  • I'm surprised no FSR staff have come through here to partake in the mud-slinging. I'm excited for the movie, but I hope it doesn't succumb to Max Payne-syndrome: a bitchin' cool trailer to hype up a forgettable piece of humdrum (ho-hum?) cinema.
  • Most of us at FSR are above the mudslinging for professional and ethical reasons (although Cole Abaius avoids it for fear of getting his dress dirty).
Also, we stopped falling for blackmanjew's comment-baiting a long time ago. Now we just sit back and enjoy his insights.
Also, as the sole writer here at FSR not interested in keeping Zack Snyder's ballsack warm I've already made several digs at Watchmen and the fanboys circle-jerking into their comic books.
Also, the movie has the potential to end up being something pretty good.
  • I think they're making a smart move to include "From the Visionary Director of 300" on every poster. I think for a lot of people who have never heard of the movie (where the hell have you been?) or the graphic novel, but enjoyed 300 will probably come out for the film. Probably not opening day though. On the other hand there were a bunch of people who hated 300, I think, so that might not be so helpful.
