nine-header1

The Weinstein Company has released a vibrant an sexually throbbing trailer for the upcoming musical Nine, the latest work of director Rob Marshall (Chicago). The film tells the story of famous film director Guido Contini (Daniel Day-Lewis), a man struggling to find harmony in his professional and personal lives as he engages in dramatic relationships with his wife, his mistress, his muse, his agent and his mother. Of course, the kicker is that these women are played by the fabulous cast of Marion Cotillard, Nicole Kidman, Kate Hudson, Penélope Cruz, Judi Dench and Sophia Loren.

And yes, I did list Kate Hudson under the “fabulously cast” header. Maybe I’m hopeful that she finally found a role in which to shine.

Anyway, the trailer is a bright, fast-paced, exciting European mistress of its own — hopefully a serving as a small taste for what is to come from the Academy Award nominated Marshall as he re-envisions Federico Fellini’s 8 1/2. Personally, I’m quite excited. Also, did I mention that Daniel Day-Lewis is in this film? That man does no wrong.

Have a look at the trailer for yourself below. You can also check it out in high definition over on Apple. Nine is in theaters on November 25, 2009.
