Normally I would save this for tomorrow’s Daily Diversion, but it just feels like something I should be posting in a more timely matter. I will find something silly for the morning. For now though, the video below will take you back through the list of Hollywood’s dearly departed in the year 2008. This is always a very somber moment during the Oscar ceremony, but TCM still decided to do it early. It’s put together well, running with a “quiet outdoors” theme and set to “God Only Knows,” by Joe Henry, from his 2007 album Civilians. Check it out below.

  • I'm so sad that Brad Renfro and Heath Ledger passed away-- has it really been a year?

    RIP
  • I enjoyed Renfro in Bully, Sleepers and Apt Pupil. He definitely seemed like a fractured soul. You're right, they will both be missed.
  • Wow, I didn't realize we lost a lot of talented, good people last year. The one saving grace is that they will always be remembered and loved by thier families and fans who have the films they were part of over the years.
