The fine gentlemen over at Trailer Addict have found the TV spot for Star Trek that will be airing tomorrow during the Superbowl. This comes on the heels of a bunch of other Superbowl TV spots, all of which can be found via the links below.

And now that we’ve got the Star Trek spot, all we have left is an Angels & Demons teaser and a Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen spot, the latter of which was promised as “awesome” by Michael Bay. As for the spot below, I’m still up and down about this incarnation of Trek. I am however, very excited to see how it turns out. That, and I’m a fan of J.J. Abrams and Damon Lindelof. So we’ll wait and see — for now the visuals look sharp and I’ve heard good things. And the clip below has a good energy about it, right? Now if only we could get those last few TV spots.. then we wouldn’t have to watch the game.

Star Trek hits theaters on May 8, 2009.

I am so pumped for this movie. I loved Cloverfield and am a big J.J Abrams fan
  • Looks like a good Sci-Fi action flick. As long as they keep the phasers firing and the talking to a minimum, I'm in.
  • "why are you talking to me man"????? so apparently people in the future will continue to speak like douchebags from the present? I'm still not sure about this film, still seems a little WB network for me

This is my top anticipated film for 2009. I can't wait to see the reboot of Star Trek. It's been way too long since we've had good Star Trek on the airwaves, but now it's back!
  • Wow that was quick.

I'm also hoping the rather un-Starfleet "Why ya talking to me, man" lingo is something Captain Pike knocks out of the young Kirk before he's given the Enterprise. It's got that lowest common denominator feel to it, you know...to drag the cool young kiddies into the theatres. But I'm still hopeful. In fact, I pray to the gods that I enjoy it. Trek is my life long love.....mess this up and I will hunt you to the ends of the Earth, Mr Abrams.
