W. Marketing Stays Outside, Continues to Entertain

While many movie fans out there are still struggling to make sense of Oliver Stone’s upcoming film W., a biopic of still-President George W. Bush, one thing is for certain: the marketing has been increasingly satirical and ultimately entertaining. It started with the teaser trailer released in late July, which set the tone for a film that could be a very tongue-in-cheek version of Bush’s early years. As well, we exclusively brought you two posters found outside the location of this coming weekend’s Democratic National Convention in Denver. All-in-all, it has been an interesting ride thus far for the production that sees No Country for Old Men star Josh Brolin in the title role. And the billboard seen above, found via the fine folks over at IGN, just adds to the effect. If you can’t read the caption, which can be seen clearly if you click and enlarge the image, it reads “Anyone can grow up to be President.”
I will be interested to hear all of your thoughts in the comment section below.
