Viral Video: 2007: A Year For Drama

Hollywood Elsewhere posted the following video, which is a pitch-perfect encapsulation of the year that was in cinema. Within this awesome work, created by Matt Shapiro, you will find clips from Atonement, Juno, There Will Be Blood, Knocked Up, The Savages, Ratatouille, Zodiac and many more. It is all set to the song “Falling Slowly” sung by Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova in the film Once. Also notable is the fact that there are a few clips from Danny Boyle’s Sunshine, which was certainly one of the unsung gems of 2007. Good video. There really were a lot of good films this past year. That video was a good summary. No Country, There Will Be Blood, Michael Clayton, Juno, Knocked Up, Superbad (which wasn’t pictured), Once, Zodiac, Gone Baby Gone, I’m Not There, Darjeeling Limited, The Savages, Into the Wild, Charlie Wilson’s War, Sweeney Todd, Ratatouille. This year more than any other in recent memory has more movies that are must-owns for the collection. That video summed it all up except for how shitty Reign Over Me and the last 30 minutes of Sunshine were.
