Universal Buys the Moon, Forces it to Fight Earth
Posted by Cole Abaius (cole.abaius@filmschoolrejects.com) on April 9, 2008

Even after the script for Earth v. Moon finally found a home at Universal, it appears that they are keeping the plot an industry secret.
The Hollywood Reporter has the full scoop on the script by Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese. The two aren’t exactly new to the game, mostly doing work for television. Reese also provided additional screenplay material for Monsters, Inc.
Producer Scott Stuber brings his expertise to the project after he finishes his duties on The Wolf Man, which is currently filming, and about a dozen other projects he has slated.
The title of this project alone has me excited. Will the Earth and the Moon fight in this sci-fi epic? Will one sue the other? Will there be some sort of sports competition they have to endure to see who stays in the galaxy?
For now, we can only speculate until Universal releases more information. Stay tuned to FSR as we learn more.

I guess after Freddy vs. Jason, Aliens vs. Predator, King Kong vs. Godzilla, Vampires vs. Zombies, and the Japanese zombie flick Versus, having the Earth vs. the Moon is the next logical step. I mean, you can’t really top that, can you?
My money’s on the Moon.

What if the moon were made of BBQ spare ribs … would you eat it?
