Two New Spirit Posters Rise from the Dead
Movie Marketing By Neil Miller on September 19, 2008 | (2) CommentsJust yesterday, I mentioned that we hadn’t been talking about Frank Miller’s The Spirit much lately. Then, just like that, we get two days of updates in a row. Today’s newness comes courtesy of the folks over at UGO, who have uncovered two new posters for the film. One features Gabriel Macht looking very “holy” as Denny Colt, a.k.a The Spirit, and the other shows the man who made him quite swiss-cheesy, Samuel L. Jackson as The Octopus.
Honestly, when you click above and check out the bigger versions of the poster, you may just agree that these are pretty badass. It is marketing like this that continues to conflict me regarding The Spirit. Every ounce of footage that we’ve seen has been bad — and I mean bad — but there are still elements of this film that show promise. But as we all know, a film cannot live on marketing materials alone, so we’ll see how this one turns out when it hits theaters on December 25th.
