‘Twilight’ Sequel ‘New Moon’ To Start Filming In March

Twilight

Androgynous teen sensation Kristen Stewart was on Ryan Seacrest’s radio show recently chatting up her new movie, Twilight.  She spoke about her introduction to acting, fan obsession, and more. Seacrest also asked her for any information on Twilight’s inevitable sequel, New Moon.

Hopefully we do get to make the second one. I mean we do get to make the second one, I don’t know what I’m talking about. I think it’ll probably be in March, and a lot of the movie takes place in Italy, and I think we’re actually going to get to go to Italy, which is so cool because for a while there, they were like, oh, we don’t have the money, but now I think we might have the money.”

Stewart didn’t say when Summit plans to release New Moon, but with filming starting in March they could possibly make a Christmas 2009 release date.  Stewart also spoke about how engaging the books are.  She says when you read them, you are the main character of Bella.  Our own Cole Abaius can attest to this same feeling. “You don’t get slapped in the face with a new plot-line every chapter. It’s a slow, progressive, very detailed account of a fixation.”  (Abaius can attest to that as well.)  Of course, she also claims Bella is a “good, strong, female character” which we all know is malarkey.  One thing Seacrest didn’t ask Stewart about is her reported $12 million payday for the sequel, an increase of $10 million from Twilight.  That’s a lot of Ziploc baggies and Cheetos for Miss Stewart… (see right)

Do you think Summit should aim for the holiday slot?  Or should they take their time and plan for a summer 2010 release?

  • there is only 4 books, and I believe they should take their time ... they will be adults for most of the series (not like the Harry Potter race against the clock)
  • TwilightFan03
I think its pretty obvious they need to hurry up with the production of these movies. Edward is only supposed to be 17 years old and the actor Robert Pattinson is already 22 in real life. they may want to hurry to before he gets any older, same for the other vampires.
  • Fae
no, the vampires don't age, so they have to keep looking the same for the rest of the series. this was actually one of Rob's worry in making the whole saga.

whether they are to aim a summer 2010 or even a holiday 2009, the New Moon should and must be better than Twilight. I'm begging!

OH MY GOSH!!, I think that they should hurry it up Lola<333 due to the fact that the actors will age and btw it's four more books...I'm pretty sure, she wrote "Midnight Sun"? anyways I don't know if that's an official book but it's not going to be published S: and I think that "New Moon" is going to be way better than "Twilight" just because it's going to be about heart breaking and that's a sad thing so I guess that people will be crying in the movie theatre Lmfaos<333 I am so effing stoked for "New Moon" and stoked for the DvD release of "Twilight"
  • omg in twilight new moon they better have edward init because if he i ant watchin it! i absoloutley love twilight especially with edward and andbella tpgether i dont mind jacob being init but i want edward and bella to stay together because it better and it would be good if in the seond movie it could ALSO be abut vampires more then ware wolves because the vapires is what its all about especially edward! ( robert pattinson) they shouldnt make the mainn characters jacob and bella they should have the main chracters as EDWARD and bella that would be wicked! i was actually thinking it would be about bella gettin bit by edward :S but still cant waitto see it :D hope it brill i bet it will be! I HOPE ITS NOT TO SAD I HOPE IT HAPPY AT THE END....

have you even read the books? you can't change it. it is crucial to the whole series.

i'm totally with you on this one.
whether you like edward or jacob best - in my own opinion i do prefer
edward - however, jacob is vital in new moon and the rest of the books.
you can't just hope the writers take him away and change the film/book, it would
    totally mess up the rest..
sorry I forgot to write in my comment above lol.

omg i totally agree you cant make the mvoies and not make it like the books and plus it just wrecks it but
still i so god damn anooyed they even mentioned 2010 because if its then i dont think i will be able to survive another day .. literally. and in twilight the book its soo different like charlie and the car how they talk
about her homecoming present - How cheap is cheap?- thats not even in it .. she just says she loves it
it just ruins the whole thing.. so everyone watching the mvoies before the books i wouldnt wait the boooks are way better and you can actually picture the movie and its so addictive . plus people say im bella beause of my name ;l LAME!!
  • Kelseyyy
Oh no! I don't think I could wait another day! New Moon starts filming in March, so they shouldn't wait until summer of 2010. :( I am really looking toward to the movie because some of it shoots in Italy, and that is amazing! I love the twilight series and have read all the books twice. So hopefully the second movie lived up to the book. :) Robert Pattinson is Awesome! Just how I imagined Edward. I'm so excited, but suspense is eating me up! :]
