Twilight Fans Get a Much-Needed Intervention
Humor By Neil Miller on November 23, 2009 | (14) Comments
Everyone who wears their fandom on their sleeve is susceptible to pranks. And the more aggressive the fandom, the more likely the chaos upon pulling the prank. And leave it to comedian Skyler Stone to bring a prank to the most high-profile of fan groups this year, the fans of Twilight. The comedian rented a theater in Santa Monica, Calif. and let the drinks flow, inviting a big group of fans out to what they thought was a private premiere of New Moon. What they got instead was an intervention and the exit.
It’s cruel, yes, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t still funny. And as I said, it could be pulled on just about any group of fans. Imagine the anarchy that would’ve occurred had someone done this to Star Wars fans prior to the Episode I release. There would have been a riot. It just so happens that Twilight fans are in right now, and that the fanbase is dying to get their hands on the next inch of footage. Sorry kids, this is what happens when you get too attached.
Have a laugh for yourself below. Thanks to Cinematical for the hat tip.
