Thanks for the props guys! It's nice knowing your opinions are appreciated.

Joelene, I feel your pain. I'm not fond of going to movies alone either. Just feels sort of . . . wrong. Fortunately though, I have a few good friends with similarly ecclectic movie tastes.

Steve, the concept of Tsotsi really wasn't too hard to sit through. The movie did a fantastic job of making a complex moral subject very watchable and moving. As for not returning the baby, Tsotsi shot the woman and left her for dead. He wasn't about to take the baby back to her and was much closer to his own house when he actually realized the baby was there!

Thanks again for the feedback guys!

Great review of what appears to be, at least on the surface, a difficult concept of a film to sit through. I have yet to see it and have only read reviews and seen the previews. I may be missing something but why did the guy not return the baby to its mother when he realised he had a baby in the car? Was the mother dead? I like the idea of a violent, confused individual suddenly facing up to his life and actions as opposed to having to go through a lengthy process of understanding. We can all change our behaviour in an instant. It is easy...

looking forward to seeing this one. i often struggle to find a friend willing (or sober?) enough to attend a subtitled film with me. apparently you're a real "grown up" when you see a movie by yourself...i think it's time.
it's not that I'm afraid. I just can't afford the popcorn on my own.
