With the December 17, 2010 released date not so quickly approaching for Tron Legacy, Disney is already on the marketing warpath. At least, they’ve begun to do their work internationally. Thankfully, there are no borders on the internet.

Hey You Guys has posted a brand new image (above) and a gorgeous new poster (below) for the film, showing off the sleek, stylish costumes and bright lights of the suits within the machine. This, my friends, is about the most excitement you’re going to have on a Wednesday morning.

Also, a new official synopsis has been released:

TRON: LEGACY is a 3D high-tech adventure set in a digital world that’s unlike anything ever captured on the big screen. Sam Flynn (GARRETT HEDLUND), the tech-savvy 27-year-old son of Kevin Flynn (JEFF BRIDGES), looks into his father’s disappearance and finds himself pulled into the digital world of Tron where his father has been living for 25 years. Along with Kevin’s loyal confidant Quorra (OLIVIA WILDE), father and son embark on a life-and-death journey of escape across a visually-stunning cyber universe that has become far more advanced and exceedingly dangerous.

Tron Legacy opens December 17, 2010. New video game footage is due out in the coming week, so we’re also expecting a trailer for the Joseph Kosinski film sometime during the holiday season.

  • The Tron posters and wallpapers are too awesome. The graphic colors and designs are mind blowing with the highlights given to certain objects.

Thanks for sharing the poster. Hopefully we can see a trailer sometime soon :)

I will definitely watch this movie in IMAX 3D.
I wonder if the budget of this movie is between $200 to $300 million as I read somewhere on the net.
  • they did release a teaser for this - http://www.apple.com/trailers/disney/tronlegacy/

Thanks, I have seen this trailer a few weeks ago. I was waiting for an official trailer though.
  • we've been made aware of this far too soon. anybody remember the days of not knowing shit about a movie until a month, nay, two weeks before it came out? am i THAT old? Dewey Decimal System? Netscape? anyboooody
  • Aleric
Lol yeah you are old dude, but then back in the day they had magazines that hyped up and coming movies about 6 months before hand.
  • good point there, but 6 months is still shorter than the lead time we have now...like this movie, for example. i saw a teaser video for this movie months ago and it's still A YEAR away. i guess one good thing about being old is that years roll by faster
  • Aleric
Ahh for the day when they have trailers before they have even cast the movie...lol.
  • Megajat
I think there already was one. The Da Vince Code?
  • deltavoyage
Impressive. The ComicCon trailer and this poster have definitely put the movie on my radar. Looking forward to seeing it.
