In a bit of news that should excite our very own Neil Miller and several million children of the 80s, Michael “Awesome!” Bay and company have caught their last frames as of last week. Next stop, the editing room. Here’s where I make a bad joke about Michael turning from a Directing Bay into an Editing Bay.

According to a quick note on Bay’s website, the principle photography is done, an incredible feat considering the amount of time it took to create the first film. And they only lost a few fingers and Jonah Hill in the process! Not bad.

It looks like Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen is on track for its June 26th 2009 release date. Or, as it should be known from then on, National Explosion Day.

Happy National Explosion Day, everyone!

What do you think? Are you still hyped for Transformers 2?
