Transformers 2 Trailer Rolls Out Onto the Web
Movie News By Cole Abaius on April 30, 2009 | (45) Comments
The new trailer for the upcoming Michael Bay actioner Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen is at large on the web, assaulting anyone who comes near it with brute force and old Pointer Sisters songs.
Luckily, the trailer gives a quick hit of Bumblee playing said song in the goofiest possible manner – then cuts right to the chase (are we going to have to start saying “cut to the explosion” for Bay films?) with a ton of action and a loose scaffolding of the plot.
As much as I thought the first film was a major waste, I have to admit that this trailer is actually pretty exciting:
Why does it work? A ton of shit is blowing up. One can only hope that Bay and company haven’t blown their wad in the trailer, that they’ve left a ton of tricks up their sleeve for the actual film. Also, a near up-short shot of Megan Fox will be sure to get a few fanboys hot and bothered.
Plus, there’s barely any dialogue. It seems like whoever cut this trailer is either giving an accurate representation on the scale of talking in the movie or realized where the strengths and weaknesses of the blockbuster lie.
All in all, really exciting. Except – why, why, why does Optimus keep getting his ass handed to him? This, I may never understand.
