Transformers 2 Set Photos: Empty Streets That Will Soon Be Exploding in an Awesome Manner
Posted by Neil Miller (neil@filmschoolrejects.com) on May 27, 2008
It is safe to assume, based on the history of director Michael Bay, that Transformers 2 will include two things: Giant f*&king robots and awesome explosions. If it has nothing else (plot, clever dialogue, coherent character arcs), it will at least have those two things.
As well, while we can all agree that there is nothing inherently interesting about photos from Bethlehem, PA, the first set of the film, it is quite fun to look at these photos and imagine the two aforementioned elements. In fact, if you take a look at the images (above and below, and more over at Transformers Live Action Blog), you will only really learn one or two things about the film itself.
And these facts are:
- The film will feature at least one scene in either China or Japan.
- An altercation of some kind will involve a factory.
On top of these obvious fact about the film, the report over at TLAB also gives a few other alleged details about the production. And while we cannot confirm nor deny any of this, we would like to remind you that Michael Bay is on the warpath to spread misinformation, so this could very well be more trickery. Nonetheless, here are the details from the report:
- The east side of the site is being re-developed so most of the shooting will take place on the west side.
- A new concept car (possible Transformer?) not used in the first movie will be used there
- Two Blackhawk helicopters will be used
- The area will be patrolled by the site security and Bethlehem City Police who will also and close streets for the shoot.
New concept car? Cool. Two Blackhawk helicopters? Also cool. All of the other details — not relevant for our purposes. That is, unless one of our gorgeous readers in the Bethlehem, PA area would like to attempt to sneak past the BCPD and score some set photos… hint hint.
Keep an eye right here on FSR as we will be lying, cheating, stealing and sleeping our way to the top in order to bring you all the latest (and hopefully the most factual) info on Transformers 2 — In theaters June 26, 2009.
