Trailer Watch: Star Trek, The Dark Knight & Indy 4

Our peeps over at Comingsoon.net have revealed some details about upcoming teasers for next year’s blockbuster movies, well done lads, it’s about time that we got our hands on them! Even though it’s true that there’s no guarantee that every print of the movie a teaser is supposed to be seen with will actually have the trailer, it still gets the adrenaline pumping when you’re sitting there, waiting for it to pop up, hoping that the next one will be the one you’ve waited for. Especially when it comes to these movies!
First to hit our screens will be, as many people already know, the IMAX 7 minute prequel-esque trailer which delves into the origins of the Joker. Except it’s not a trailer, it’s the opening scene of the movie! Yup, The Dark Knight’s trailer is all set to come attached to IMAX screenings of Will Smith’s upcoming omega man movie, I Am Legend. For those of us not fortunate enough to have an IMAX within range, they will of course be releasing the (regular, boring old) teaser trailer with standard prints of the same movie, but it lacks the same punch.
For all the Trekkies panting after the upcoming addition to the canon, or for those who can’t wait to take aim at it after seeing the final cast list, Star Trek XI’s teaser will be shown attached to J.J. Abram’s hand-held monster movie Cloverfield, released on the 18th of January, 2008. That’s a funny film choice to pair Star Trek with, isn’t it? Wait, who’s directing Star Trek again…?
Finally, the fourth chapter in Indiana Jones’ story, the chapter some feel should not have been made, and the one with such a weird title that even David Lynch is scratching his head at it*, the trailer for Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull is to be screened for the first time in February. Sadly that’s all the information we have on this one, but the biggest release that Paramount have slated to come out that month is The Spiderwick Chronicles, so perhaps it could rear its head then?
*May not be true.
