I used to be a huge fan of Sandra Bullock, and by “huge fan” I mean slim to athletically-built fan.  Once upon a time, her one-two punch of Speed and While You Were Sleeping captured both my heart and my groin.  Sadly, she went on to star in a series of mostly forgettable romantic comedies and suspense thrillers.  There were some good movies mixed in across the years, like A Time To Kill and Forces of Nature, but like atheists at a rodeo they’re clearly in the minority.

Bullock’s new movie, The Proposal, pairs her with buff funnyman Ryan Reynolds.  She plays a bitchy boss, and he plays her abused assistant.  (Any similarity to Two Weeks Notice end there…)  Circumstances force the two into close proximity, and we all know what happens next!  (Okay, the similarites really stop here.)  They fight and feud but eventually fall in love!  (Seriously now…)  Check out the new trailer below.

And I kid with the title above.  The trailer doesn’t actually look that bad.  Generic and predictable yes, but not wholly terrible.  My only concern is when the funniest person in your trailer is Betty White… and she is damn funny here… it doesn’t bode well for your two comedic leads.

What do you think of the trailer?  Are Bullock and Reynolds a believable pair?  Do you sometimes wish Betty White was your grandmother?  I’d trade mine in a heartbeat…
