Seriously, If a studio is going to spend millions of dollars making a movie, don't you think they would do the research? Wait until the full movie is released, then go to the theater with your Star Trek Pocket Reference Guide and nit-pick through it so you can achieve self satisfaction knowing you pointed out a foible to the people sitting next to you. The only continuity I'm concerned about is the message behind the movie. I would hope the theme of improving ourselves and making tough decisions based on human morality lives long and prospers. . . I didn't see that in the trailer, but I look forward to witnessing more insight into man's triumph over adversity and his exploration of the unknown in the full film.

I'm a nitpicker with a ton of ST Trivia stowed away in it's own locked cupboard in my mind. Though I see an excellently put together and delivered trailer, I also see small holes in the continuity... though I WILL leave the truth to that in the final outcome.
I do have one obvious problem however. The Enterprise.. it's got a look of futuristic glory... and it's a really COOL look!! But.. umm... it looks like it's an UPGRADE to the original... not the pre-design. Even if it's destroyed in the movie and has to be remade... it's not good continuity. On top of that... the "A" version didn't come out until AFTER Kirk blew up the original in the earlier movie.

That said... I am still very hopeful that it turns out to be a sweet movie that brings more people into the Star Trek fold. More people that I'll have to correct on trivia points too I bet..LOL I just hope I don't have to be one of those people who ruins THIS movie for the new Trek Followers when they ask me to explain why the original series doesn't connect to this movie as completely as it could.

One of the BEST parts on the Star Trek universe is it's constant continuity. Rarely have I found issues in that are... and believe me.. I'm one heck of a nitpicker!!

I hate to do it, but I have to add something. The insignia worn by the characters would have been only designated for the Enterprise at that time. It did not reflect more than that until AFTER Kirk's first 5 year mission... I can only hope that the movie will reflect that as well.. and NOT make it a general Starfleet insignia.

I didn't get the Star Trek trailer or the Watchmen trailer. But I did get Angels and Demons. Anyway, I wonder how that works. There's been a few times where I was expecting to see a trailer I've been waiting for, but it doesn't play in the auditorium I'm in, but it will in another auditorium.

Curious thing: When I went to see QoS, my theater didn't show this trailer. I saw the new WATCHMEN trailer (which... you know... I guess it looks cool), and THE SPIRIT trailer (which... you know--looks terrible). But not this. I was very disappointed.

But all that aside, this looks like the best film yet fashioned by human hands.

still looks like a dawson's creek version of star trek.

dont know if anyone of you watch stargate, but in their 400th episode they did a spoof of themselves with an all young person cast where they all made out and spoke like morons, this movie reminds me of that
