The folks at Dreamworks Pictures have released the first teaser trailer for the film I Love You, Man starring Paul Rudd, Jason Segel, Jaime Pressly, Rashida Jones, Rob Huebel, Jon Favreau, Colleen Crabtree and Caroline Farah. The film follows the story of a newly engaged man desperately searching for a best man for his wedding. It is written and directed by John Hamburg, who previously wrote and directed Along Came Polly starring Ben Stiller and Jennifer Aniston.

And since you’re all dying to hear what my first impressions are, here we go: It doesn’t look like much of a story (lame premise), but its Paul Rudd people! Then again, while the Ruddster continues to bring about gems such as Role Models, he has also done absolute shit like The Ten and Over Her Dead Body. My sincere hope is that we get Knocked Up Paul Rudd (metaphorically) instead of the lesser version, known to me as Pay Check Loving Paul Rudd. Also, J.K. Simmons is always a nice touch.

I Love You, Man hits theaters on March 20, 2009. Check out the trailer below or visit Yahoo Movies to see it in HD.

  • I already saw this movie at a screening and I have to say that it was really, really great, and very different. I kept expecting for things to play out in typical movie cliches but instead it was surprising in a simple, entertaining way. Plus it was Super Freaking Funny. Jason Segal is awesome. I'm glad that he's finally starting to get more opportunities to show it.
  • Wow...umm I don't what should I say. Hmmm first of all the plot seems ehhh and first of all Paul Rudd's character has no bff? I mean come on what about high school? and What about Adam Sandberg as your bro? And the gay kiss? Mmmm not surprising since Rudd did "Object of My Affection" with Jenny Aniston as his Fag hag in the movie. I'm sure this movie feels as his other flop "Over Her Dead Body". All I can say its a renter.
  • This looks utterly hilarious and awesome. "He's about the coolest guy I know. Peaww."
  • We list all those names and don't mention J.K. Simmons? Even if he's got a bit role, he's probably the only actor I care about other than Rudd and Segal.

Sidenote: Who thinks Segal should team up with Seagal for a gut-busting, ass-kicking buddy comedy? Raise your hands. Not all at once.
  • BFF? Bromance? The fact that he doesn't have one is strange, but the comedy in this trailer is enough to get me to see it. I felt the same about Sarah Marshall, which didn't disappoint.
  • Awesome.
