If you thought you were surprised to find that Limp Bizkit front man Fred Durst had directed film called The Longshots, which actually wasn’t too bad, wait until you get a load of the trailer for his next film The Education of Charlie Banks. The flick stars Adventureland and The Squid and the Whale’s Jesse Eisenberg as Charlie Banks, a college student who is forced to deal with some childhood issues when a bully from his high school (played by Jason Ritter) shows up in his dorm.

The film wreaks a bit of that generic melodramatic formula that we’ve seen countless times before, but it also shows some promise. Both Eisenberg and Ritter are capable actors and they are working off of a script from Peter Elkoff, who has spent years working on well-scripted shows such as Six Degrees and Ugly Betty. I will be interested to see what all of you think of the trailer in the comment section below.

The Education of Charlie Banks currently has no official release date. It played at the Tribeca Film Festival in 2007, and will likely find limited release or a DVD run later this year.

  • Fred Durst? Really?
  • I'm glad he's being mature about filmmaking. I hope he keeps making movies, at least then, he will be too busy to make anymore music.
  • I am very intrigued. But at the same time, Fred Durst?
  • Durst directed The Longshots, a kids movie, now this? I don't know, this looks somewhat interesting but I will remain apprehensive until further notice.

This Movie looks interesting it looks like a must see movie even if Fred Durst is involved. Fred Durst he is the poster boy for the white trash era of the nineties and the early part of this decade. Who knows he might be the come back kid of the year rumor has it that Limp Bizkit is reuniting. This movie devenately looks like a must see. It has a 7.6 aproval rating at the IMDB. All I can say is it looks like it might be worth while
