Idlewild – Holy shit, this movie looks awesome!! Gangsters + Crazy Fun Dance Numbers + Andre Benjamin = My Ass In A Theater Seat On Opening Night. I can’t say enough about Andre’s little ‘side-hobby’ that he’s found in acting. This man blew me away in Four Brothers and he did it again in Revolver. I’d tell him to make the switch permanently, but his music is just so much fun!

The Omen – From the trailer I already saw 4 or 5 key scenes that are EXACTLY the same as the original. I don’t get this. Why would you remake a movie without actually “remaking” it? They should just call them “reshoots” or something. And I don’t understand this need to reshoot classic movies and re-release them. Especially a movie like The Omen which was well shot and well acted for its time. At least George Lucas added some scenes with his Special Editions, and even HE didn’t feel the need to shoot the entire movie over again!

Because I like the music of Outkast, and the music in the trailer is spectacular. Once I see the film, I will be able to say whether any of the performances are Oscar worthy. Personally, I find it hard to draw Oscar worthy out of performances from a trailer. The music, however, I am more sure of.

The film looks great, either way. That’s why I used it as my lead off hitter for Super Trailer Thursday.

I’m sorry but I have to ask, why would you automatically think that in ‘Idlewild’ the reason it’d get an Oscar was because of a song and not for acting prowess or direction or screenplay or……
