Worth Watching: The Young Victoria Trailer
Movie News By Bethany Perryman on October 9, 2009 | Be the First To Comment
A new, slick trailer has emerged for The Young Victoria, a new period drama starring Emily Blunt. Blunt (The Devil Wears Prada) stars in what looks to be an elegant, angst-ridden Victorian-era drama as the young British queen (that would be Queen Victoria). Rupert Friend plays Prince Albert. With Martin Scorsese and the Duchess of York lending producing cred, The Young Victoria looks to be a well-made heart-tugger. With a screenplay written by Oscar-winner Julian Fellowes (scribe of Gosford Park), and costumes that were insured for 10,000GBP apiece, we’re no doubt in for a royally interesting ride.
The film, filmed mostly in 2007, was released to solid reviews in March of 2009 in the UK, but will be given a limited US release on December 18th. It is currently available on DVD in Great Britain.
