That 'Summons' Should Read 'Paycheck'

As if we needed proof that the 1990s are still alive and well, the new trailer for Tooth Fairy swings into full gear like the sentimental schlock of yesteryear. Syncing up with a style that makes it look like the long lost spin-off to the Santa Clause series, Dwayne Johnson doesn’t believe in something so he’s forced to take on the job, wings and all.

Unfunny puns? Check. Tough guy emasculated? Check. Non-believer having the magic of something shoved down his throat? Ding ding ding!

Luckily, Tooth Fairy looks like it’s also delivering the trope of a hero taking on a stupid job and “doing it his way.”

Hold on to your butts:

Call me cynical for not enjoying a trailer that’s clearly aimed at 9-year olds, but I think I can see dreck even when it’s dreck aimed at 9-year olds. I can imagine the moment this movie went into production. “You’re telling me a tough hockey player nicknamed The Tooth Fairy has to become an actual Tooth Fairy?!” SOLD

What do you think?
