New ‘Tooth Fairy’ Trailer Might Be Worst of the Year

That 'Summons' Should Read 'Paycheck'

As if we needed proof that the 1990s are still alive and well, the new trailer for Tooth Fairy swings into full gear like the sentimental schlock of yesteryear. Syncing up with a style that makes it look like the long lost spin-off to the Santa Clause series, Dwayne Johnson doesn’t believe in something so he’s forced to take on the job, wings and all.

Unfunny puns? Check. Tough guy emasculated? Check. Non-believer having the magic of something shoved down his throat? Ding ding ding!

Luckily, Tooth Fairy looks like it’s also delivering the trope of a hero taking on a stupid job and “doing it his way.”

Hold on to your butts:

Call me cynical for not enjoying a trailer that’s clearly aimed at 9-year olds, but I think I can see dreck even when it’s dreck aimed at 9-year olds. I can imagine the moment this movie went into production. “You’re telling me a tough hockey player nicknamed The Tooth Fairy has to become an actual Tooth Fairy?!” SOLD

What do you think?

I'm almost positive this exact same premise was used for a Disney Channel original movie about 6-10 years ago.

Okay...let me get this staight...Julie Andrews, Billy Crystal, AND Ashley Judd? WTF??? They must all REALLY need the cash. Well...Julie Andrews did those Princess movies, or something, with Anne Hathaway, so forget I mentioned her...but the others? Wow...

Will someone PLEASE PLEASE take control of Dwayne Johnsons career and put it back on track. he has another 5 years before he is a true joke.

Oh come on people... it's a kids movie and I see it doing well for the audience it's MADE FOR... just because he is the ROCK doesn't mean he has to do action movies for YOU.... it's made for your kids to drag you to.

I agree -- it's a kids' movie, and I actually thought it looked kinda cute. Silly, yes, but so what? Silly is good for the soul. I know I won't be able to get my husband to go, and my nieces and nephew are all too old to use for "cover" now, so I guess I'll just have to wait for it to come to On Demand, and then endure my husband's belittling for watching it, but I think I may enjoy it anyway. On the other hand, all of the cute/funny bits may already have been shown in the trailer, as happens so often, so I may be disappointed, but I'm willing to give it a shot.

Geez some people need to get a life dont watch it if it gets up your nose so much.I think its going to be a good movie and a least the rock is not just about punching people around he does care for kidz.So to the people that criticize you must not have kidz of your own and have nothing better to do.
  • Tooth Fairy is one of the most anticipated movie this year.. They will surely make a great movie... thanks to all the characters and production crew that worked hard to produce this great movie...
