I'd harangue you but I happen to agree. Also, it sounds vaguely perverted. I've never really understood the attraction to her big old bobble head, and her acting has never been all that special.

It's not your fault if you don't understand that Angelina Jolie is an excellent actress. What does Charlize have more than Jolie? Have you seen A Mighty Heart, Gia and Changelling. Are you saying that Clint Eastwood understands nothing about actresses. He chose angelina Jolie for Changelling because he is an idiot. I've seen these 3 movies with Angelina and she is excellent. You can stick to your opinion. You can't base your opinion on Tomb Raider and Wanted. Byebye

Well then gear up and adjourne yourself otherwise don't waste your time thinking you are aknowledged enough to write critics on actors and movies. Are you then convinced Clint Eastwood is stupid???

If you have such an antipathy for Angelina why not stop writing about her films? Save yourself the obvious torture and we real film enthusiasts your incredibly biased veiws.

I agree Theron is a fine actress and regrettably agree that her choices since "Monster" have been wretched with the exception of the little seen "The Valley of Elah". But when she signed on to Hancock 2 she lost considerable sheen. Aside from the abysmal taste, what producer wants to be associated with that? She doesn't create any buzz, she isn't a good interview and she doesn't promote her films well. She is also rumored to be a bitch on set.

AJ is the consummate professional. Crews, directors, co-workers and producers love her. They set up play areas for her kids, they arrange part-time work schedules, they pay all her expenses including insurance for her whole family. Studio publicists sing her praises. She is the highest paid and most sought after actress in the world. She could work non-stop if she wanted to. I think you need to recognize that your attitude isn't shared and stop writing about AJ and her films.

Like or dislike her she has the power to get films financed, attract the best directors and writers, and give award nominated (and sometimes winning) performances. What women in Hwood can step into a leading mans role? Theron is a beautiful woman and wonderful actress (although her film choices haven't enhanced her career since Monster) but she doesn't have the clout to get a film financed (right or wrong). After Cruz left the project no one wanted to pick it up until Jolie became involved. Producers aren't stupid people, they know what sells and what doesn't.

I guess some people (few for sure) don't find Angelina Jolie to be gorgeous. Personally, I think she's physical perfection. Her face is stunning and,more importantly, she's a giving and loving person with compassion. Anyone who loves children as much as she does... how could she NOT be beautiful?!

As for her acting, the Tomb Raider movies didn't really show it off because they were supposed to be campy, but you really should see Girl Interrupted, Mr & Mrs Smith, Changeling, and A Mighty Heart. Nah, skip Mighty Heart - you haven't done anything to me!

I loved Wanted, too, but I think I'm in the minority there.

Oh, I've seen all those movies. Girl, Interrupted is the closest she comes to a great performances. Mr. and Mrs. Smith is an easy role that she has fun with, but it's not amazing. In Changeling, she's soap-opera levels of bad, trying far too hard, and A Mighty Heart...not my cup of tea, I guess.

It's not that I think she's a bad actress. I just think she's fairly average. There are many better actresses out there. But there's no denying her curb appeal or ability to get people into a theater. She's a movie star, not an actor.

Thankfully, the top directors in the world know Angelina is the real deal. To say Angelina Jolie is "not an actor" pretty much disqualifies you as a film critic.

That is one way to look at it. Of course if you are an Angelina detractor it seems de rigeur. the other way it to realize that SONY, who just finished working with AJ in June '09 moved heaven and earth to get her in another film for them. Don't you think it is likely they have seen footage from "SALT"? Spyglass was going nowhere with this movie and it is far more likely that they eased Charlize out, as she has become box office poison. Cruise is obviously trying to change his image taking on "Wichita" instead of this so why shouldn't producers go for the gold. Angelina can act rings around practically anyone and the camera loves her. Who cares if you don't like her, it doesn't change the fact that she is the finest actress of her generation even if she has clearly decide to go for the bucks.
